Course description:

Why Let Plaque Be A Pain In The Back?®
One-of-a-kind ergonomic seminars for
dentists, hygienists and assistants. These
dynamic, research-based seminars include,
but go far beyond dental ergonomics, as
studies show a multi-factorial approach is
needed to effectively manage work-related
pain in dentistry. A fusion of biomechanics,
physiology, physical therapy and dental
ergonomics, these courses are as scientific
as they are fun and immediately applicable.

• Discover how certain operatory layouts
   can contribute to pain syndromes
• Learn the biomechanics of sitting
postures that lead to low back pain
• Learn why female operators are more
   prone to neck pain
• Discover how weak postural muscles
   can lead to MSDs

Professional background:
Bethany is a physical therapist, certified
ergonomic assessment specialist and owner
of Posturedontics®, which she co-founded
with Keith Valachi, DDS. A member of
National Speakers Association, she presents
dental ergonomic seminars internationally,
in-office ergonomic consultations, is a
published author in numerous dental
journals, including the JADA, author of the
ADAA’s Ergonomic Home Study Course
and contributing author to a dental
hygiene textbook.
