Course description:

Current emphasis on participation
course combinations:

Local Anesthesia: What’s new, what’s
current in clinical techniques, products
and local anesthetics (including articaine)
and vasoconstrictors. Multiple participation /
observation format available.
Medical Emergencies & Annoyances:
For dentist only and/or the entire dental
team. Drugs, diagnosis, case reports and
participation emergency simulations
(CPR, BLS, certification available).
Sedation, Oral & IV: Pharmacology and
techniques, patient acceptance and office
incorporation of patient management,
safely and competently.

Professional background:
Dr. Hawkins is founding director of IV
sedation, continuing education program at
University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry
and director of IVCE at the Faculty of
Medicine and Dentistry, University of
Alberta, Canada. His special emphasis is
on pain control and patient management
and unique local anesthesia requirements.
He is a certified diplomate of American
Dental Board of Anesthesiology and is a
fellow of the American Dental Society
of Anesthesiology and the International
College of Dentistry.
