Course description:
Attachment Dentistry (half or full day)
• The rationale for using precision
and semi-precision attachments.
• The attachment retained overdenture
• The bar overdenture
The program emphasizes the rationale for
using attachments in fixed, removable and
overdenture prosthetics. Various types of
intracoronal and extracoronal attachments
are discussed.
Lecture participants will leave with a clear
understanding of how to treatment plan
and use attachments.
Hands-on Course (half day): Participants
will be given a lower model with a full
denture, roots, a Hader bar and various
overdenture attachments. They will learn
how to place and cement attachments and
pick up the male or female counter parts
in acrylic. They will take home the finished
model for patient demonstrations
Professional background:
Dr. Bambara lectures nationally and
internationally on attachment dentistry,
conducting hands on workshops with
attachment prosthetics. A fellow of American
College of Dentists, the International College
of Dentists and the International Academy
of Dento-facial Esthetics, Dr. Bambara serves
as adjunct assistant professor at College of
Staten Island. He is on the staff of Seaview
and Methodist Hospitals.
