Course description:
Local Anesthesia: A comprehensive review of the pharmacologic mechanisms and delivery techniques of local anesthesia with discussion of accessory innervations, alternative techniques and troubleshooting rationales.
Anatomy For Dentists: A general review of head and neck anatomy with clinical correlations to everyday dental practice
Oral Diagnosis: A broad overview of the art and science of oral diagnosis and treatment planning with emphasis on health history, oral pathology and caries management.
Professional background:
Dr. Budenz is associate professor, Department of Anatomical Sciences; and chair, Department of Diagnostic and Emergency Services, University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. He also lectures on head and neck anatomy to the OMFS residents at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, California. He has extensive experience in head and neck anatomy dissection and nerve tract identification. Dr. Budenz has practiced over 20 years in San Francisco. He presents practical, useful information that dentists and hygienists may readily apply to clinical practice.
